As for the name, Jesters Mask, where
did it come from? Well there is nothing particularly fancy or interesting
about it so if you want you can skip this page, otherwise prepare for
the boring detail. I do occasionally get asked.
When the business was being set-up, I was on the constant look out
for ideas for the business name and branding. The name had to be catchy,
memorable and reasonably short.
In the end, the name was actually derived from a design idea. After
a memorable, and as it turns out, rather inspirational visit to a Birmingham
bar I decided that a 'harlequin' pattern would be used as the foundation
for the design. From that, the harlequin designs developed and there
was a natural progression to the Jester name, then a rather not so natural
progression on to the Jesters Mask name.
This site is now on it's 3rd revision. As you will see there is
no 'harlequin' design remaining. After playing about with a number of
different ideas, I have now developed the previous more subtle mask logo to the much bolder and final design that you see now.
There you go, a rather tedious explanation of where the name (and the
design) was derived from, but hey, don't say I didn't tell you it would
be boring.
